Activities and achievements
- During the Vision Screening project (2011–2013) 11 000 children were tested in Latvian schools in two years time.
- The results of the Vision Screening project resulted in Latvian Patent LV 15012 B "Redzes funkciju novērtēšanas ierīce"
- Developed technology allowed the team to attract the support of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) for commercialization of vision screening device (2020).

Project title: Study of the school children vision and visual perception deficiencies and development of diagnostic methods
Period: 1 April 2011–31 December 2013
Supervisor: Assoc. prof. Gunta Krūmiņa
Aim of the project: effective diagnosis of visual and visual perceptual disorders in school-age children outside the practice places of visual specialists to improve health and quality of life.
Specific aim of the project: development of diagnostic methodologies for visual and visual perception disorders, adapted for the preventive assessment of specific near-sighted vision functions in school-age children and representative visual screening of Latvian school-age children (epidemiological study).
